The Business and Professional Women’s organization we’ve known for 50 years no longer exists. The state membership made the decision to close that chapter in our lives. This decision was made because BPW/USA merged with the BPW Foundation which changed the structure of the organization. This change allows us to make our own future. We can decide what issues are important to us as a local chapter of a state organization. Not only can we start on a new chapter, but we can also write a new book.
Issues for women have changed over the past 90 years and we need to change as well. This is a golden moment and we need to seize it. We have to go boldly where we have never gone before – straightforward and unafraid. Under our new name as New York State Women, Inc.- Eastern Suffolk Chapter, we can become stronger than we have ever been. This transformation will take time and energy, but it will be time well spent. Let’s start now with a positive attitude about what we can accomplish. We need to move forward so that we can start building the next generation of amazing powerful women!
